Find your way

When treating depression, various forms of treatment may be considered depending on the severity and individual circumstances,
in particular psychotherapy and medication.

Discuss with your doctor which form of treatment is right for you.

Psychotherapy

Cognitive behavioural therapy is a commonly used and well-researched form of psychotherapy for depression. It is one of the most effective and best scientifically researched forms of therapy for treating depression. Together with your psychotherapist, you will learn to recognise stressful thought patterns, interrupt negative thought spirals and develop new, helpful behavioural strategies in everyday life. The aim is to alleviate depressive symptoms, improve coping with distressing thoughts and behavioural patterns, and support quality of life.

However, the path to a place in therapy often involves hurdles: Finding a place in therapy can be time-consuming and stressful. Long waiting times can be stressful for those affected and make it difficult to receive support at an early stage.

edupression offers a digital therapy option that can be started promptly following a doctor’s prescription.

Start therapy

Digital therapy with edupression

edupression is a digital therapy for depression. edupression is based, amongst other things, on methods of cognitive behavioural therapy. Following a doctor’s prescription, you can start therapy with edupression promptly (or, as a self-paying patient, after purchasing your edupression access).

edupression can be used as a temporary measure until psychotherapy begins, or as a complement to ongoing psychotherapy. However, digital therapy is also helpful if you are already being treated by a psychotherapist.

Drug therapy

Medication, so-called antidepressants, can provide important support, especially in cases of moderate or severe depression, a chronic course or suicidal thoughts.

The effects do not usually set in immediately and may only become apparent after a few weeks. Antidepressants do not generally lead to dependence in the sense of addictive substances. However, they should not be stopped abruptly without consulting a doctor. They can be combined well with psychotherapy. In edupression, you will find clearly presented information on treatment with medication.
