Everything you need to know about edupression

edupression is an app for internet-enabled devices (tablet, smartphone, laptop, PC) which offers its users digital therapy for depression. To access the app, users need a doctor’s prescription for edupression or must purchase the program. A one-time registration is then required. The contents of edupression were developed on a scientific basis and by a multidisciplinary team of doctors and psychologists for adults experiencing mild to moderate unipolar depressive episodes. They are based on current medical findings and include many elements of cognitive behavioural therapy. A total of 59 units with different topics are available to users. These units contain videos, information elements, quizzes and exercises.

edupression was not developed to replace other forms of therapy. edupression aims to provide people with depression with access to digital therapeutic support in the simplest way possible.

edupression can be used as a temporary measure until psychotherapy begins, or as a complement to ongoing psychotherapy. Patients are best placed to decide, together with their treating professionals, which therapy is right for them and what components it should include.

With edupression, we want to bring more transparency to the treatment of depression. To this end, we offer our users various reports that are summarised in a digital folder. These include: the mood chart report, the PHQ-9 depression questionnaire and the N-back and Stroop report. Users can share the reports with their treating professionals, family or friends. The reports can also be an important source of information for further treatment decisions.

edupression is suitable for adults aged 18 and over who have been diagnosed with a mild to moderate unipolar depressive episode. edupression is available in Switzerland in German, English, French and Italian.

edupression can be prescribed by a doctor following diagnosis, or you can purchase it yourself. In both cases, you will receive an activation code that you enter into the edupression app to use it for the intended 90-day treatment period. You can find more information under How to get edupression.

Experience shows that edupression should ideally be used 4 to 5 times a week for 10-15 minutes each time. The mood chart (daily log), on the other hand, should be completed daily in order to obtain as accurate an overview as possible of the course of therapy. The best time for the daily log is in the evening before going to bed.
