Everything you need to know about edupression

edupression is an app for internet-enabled devices (tablet, smartphone, laptop, PC) that offers its users digital psychotherapy. To access the app, users need a doctor’s prescription for edupression or must purchase the program. A one-time registration is then required. The contents of edupression were developed on a scientific basis and with a multidisciplinary team of doctors and psychologists to treat unipolar depression. They are based on the latest medical findings and include many elements of cognitive behavioural therapy. A total of 59 units with different topics are available to users. These units contain videos, information elements, quizzes and exercises.

edupression was not developed to replace other forms of therapy. The aim of edupression is to give people with depression access to therapeutic self-help in the simplest way possible.

According to current treatment guidelines, edupression can be prescribed either as a stand-alone therapy or as an add-on therapy to medication and/or conventional psychotherapy. It is best for patients to decide together with their practitioner which therapy is the right one and which components it includes.

With edupression, we want to bring more transparency to the treatment of depression. To this end, we offer our users various reports that are summarised in a digital folder. These include: the mood chart report, the PHQ-9 depression questionnaire and the N-back and Stroop report. Users can share the reports with their practitioners or family/friends. The reports can also be an important source of information for further treatment decisions.

edupression is suitable for people who have been diagnosed with unipolar depression, are at least 18 years old and understand German or English.

edupression can be prescribed to you after diagnosis or you can buy it online via this website. In both cases, you will receive an activation code that you enter into the edupression app to use it for 3 months. You can find more information under How to get edupression.

Experience shows that edupression should ideally be used 4 to 5 times a week for 10-15 minutes each time. The mood chart (daily log), on the other hand, should be completed daily in order to obtain as accurate an overview as possible of the course of therapy. The best time for the daily log is in the evening before going to bed.

The cost of using edupression for 3 months is € 224.80.
